Verizon Wireless Customers!

I just found out that some phone companies, such as Verizon, give up to 18% discounts to teachers. Check it out!  Just go to a Verizon store, show a paystub and you’re good to go!  I think the account has to be in your name in order to receive the discount but if it isn’t then you fill out a form and I think you will still be able to receive the discount. I am not sure about the procedure for other companies but I know that is how it works with Verizon.

We need all the discounts we can get, right?

No more reading comments on education articles.

GET IT IN YOUR HEADS PEOPLE.

POVERTY IS THE NUMBER ONE ENEMY OF EDUCATION, NOT TEACHERS.

It used to really bother me when I would read negative comments about teachers such as “they’re just lazy and teaching is so easy plus they get the summers off!” But now, it drives me because one day the world will understand that there would be nothing without teachers.  They are the ones that help to inspire eager students to strive for their dreams and reach the unreachable. They are the ones that put the tools in student’s hands and leave them with the promise that they CAN do it.  I will forever stick up for us teachers because we deserve the recognition.

Students are not the only ones that learn in a classroom. Teachers, what have your students taught YOU?

You don’t even know how many times I hear why do you want to be a teacher anyway, you’re not going to be able to find a job…It is discouraging to see what the education field is in nowadays but I am still hopeful that things can look up.  Perhaps that is the naive, young, soon-to-be teacher talking in me but my passion for teaching deters me from thinking of entering any other profession.  I feel the most alive when I am in the classroom positively impacting lives.  I have no idea how it is going to be once I am out of school and looking for a teaching job…I am still hopeful, though.
